چکیده
The use of lightweight materials, such as ultra-high-strength aluminium alloys, is in high demand the automotive and aerospace industries where weight savings are critical. tool materials used for high-speed cutting these alloys subjected to severe conditions that promote premature failure tools. application polycrystalline diamond (PCD) coatings provides tools with increased mechanical thermal fatigue resistance improved tribological performance. Despite good properties, their cost remains a major limitation this sector. Super-hard Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) offer technologically economically feasible alternative PCD-coated machining non-ferrous materials. In paper, performance coated un-coated hard metal inserts turning 7075 alloy has been explored. surface quality machined parts, wear vibrations generated during un-coated, PCD super-hard thin DLC on tungsten carbide were compared. results obtained demonstrate potentially interesting component finish key factor.

متن کاملBiomedical applications of diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings: A review
To resist wear, biomedical components require coatings that are exceptionally hard, have low friction, and are bioinert. Diamond-like carbon has been shown to provide this capability and to prevent leaching of metallic ions into the body. There are many ways to deposit such coatings from carbonaceous precursors, and some offer the means to incorporate other elements such as nitrogen, titanium, ...

The low hardness and poor tribological performance of aluminum alloy as moving component greatly restricts their wide applications in automotive fields. In this letter, an attempt to deposit gradient Ti/TiN/Si/(TiC/a-C:H) multi-layer on aluminum alloy is thus effectively performed by a combined arc ion plating and magnetron sputtering process based on the concept of involving coatings with a fu...

Diamond, because of its high modulus of elasticity, chemical inertness and exceptionally high hardness, is ideal for obtaining fine surface finish and accuracy. Today’s requirement of high precision parts like magnetic memory device, laser equipment, electrostatic copier, printing machine, etc., made of non-ferrous materials, such as aluminum, copper and resin demands very high surface finish. ...
متن کاملOn Stress Analysis of Diamond Coating Cutting Tools
Diamond coatings have been increasingly used in cutting tools applications. Coating delamination is the major tool failure mode and occurs due to deposition-induced residual stresses and thermomechanical loading in machining. This study applies finite element analysis to investigate stress distributions, with the edge radius focused, in diamond coating tools considering depositions and machinin...
